War of the Worlds radio drama

The Foundation will present War of the Worlds in its original radio drama format. The performance will be Oct. 26 at 2 p.m., in the Rhea County Courthouse as part of MainStreet Dayton’s PumpkinFest. The iconic Halloween broadcast was first heard Oct. 30, 1938, on CBS Radio. It was performed by Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre on the Air from a script by Howard Koch and based on the science fiction novel of the same name by H.G. Wells. Tickets are $5 online and at the door.
